Houston, TX
Western Midstream, a leader in the energy sector, recognized the need to modernize their audio-video technology to support a dynamic hybrid work environment. Based in The Woodlands, Texas, they partnered with Ford AV to design and implement state-of-the-art AV solutions that enhance collaboration, streamline meetings, and elevate user experiences. The project included remodeling their executive boardroom, training rooms, CEO office, and CFO office.
The Challenge

With the shift to hybrid work, Western Midstream needed seamless communication between remote and in-office employees. Their goals were clear:
- Simplify meeting setups to reduce wasted time.
- Enhance collaboration tools to foster better teamwork.
- Design high-tech spaces like their executive boardroom and combinable training rooms.
The Solution
Ford AV worked closely with Western Midstream to engineer innovative solutions tailored to their specific needs.

Executive Boardroom
For the high-end executive boardroom, Ford AV installed a 10’ x 6’ (136” diagonal) direct-view LED display — not a standard TV, but a large, tiled LED display delivering stunning visuals. Given the room’s size and depth, this technology ensures clear, high-quality viewing for everyone in the space. Multiple large 4K displays, PTZ cameras with voice tracking, and a podium confidence monitor further enhance the meeting experience.
To address audio concerns, Ford AV incorporated 27 motorized boundary microphones built into the table. These motorized microphones maintain a sleek, clean surface when not in use, rising smoothly when needed to provide crystal-clear audio for remote participants. Combined with new speakers, this “voice lift” solution ensures even coverage and speech reinforcement for each seat.
The boardroom also features a 10” Microsoft Teams Room integrated touch-panel for seamless room control, allowing participants to manage meetings and adjust settings effortlessly.

Combinable Training and Town Hall Space
Western Midstream also sought a flexible space to host both large gatherings and smaller meetings. Ford AV designed a combinable training room equipped with adaptable technology:
- A movable dividing wall allows the space to function as two independent rooms or a single large venue.
- When combined, the AV systems on both sides integrate seamlessly, acting as one unified setup for effortless collaboration.

The Impact
The feedback from Western Midstream’s business units and users has been overwhelmingly positive. Employees appreciate:
- Ease of use: Meetings start quickly and effortlessly.
- Enhanced collaboration: Information sharing is more fluid and productive.
- Seamless hybrid communication: Remote and in-office staff connect without technical disruptions.

Ford AV’s partnership with Western Midstream has transformed their meeting spaces into technologically advanced, user-friendly environments. From the executive boardroom’s sophisticated design to the flexible town hall space, these solutions empower Western Midstream to collaborate efficiently in today’s hybrid work landscape.
